An access to ASEAN tourism Forum 2009: Vietnam has already well-prepared

Followed by successes of the conferences, after meeting high ranking officials of tourism sector at the ATF 2008, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr. Hoang Tuan Anh realized that foreign partners already set strong belief on a successful ATF 2009 in Vietnam

“I love Vietnam”...

After a vivid documentary film on an ongoing developing Vietnam with latent beauty of the country and its people, 500 representatives of the ATF had an opportunity to watch a special live show of Vietnamese artists and enjoyed the food here. Then, Vietnam received many praises: “I love Vietnam” “very good”, “Vietnam’s long traditional dress is very beautiful”…

At this ATF, the artist deligation of Hanoi Opera House with 26 artists already made a very good impression on foreign audiences. The outstanding points were dancing, singing and music performances which highlighted the national character such as: ta ao que huong, luc cung hoa dang, nhung canh hoa cham, dat nuoc loi ru...

But when first entering Plaza Athene hotel, you could see many young girls wearing “ao dai”, four-panel traditional dress, holding Flat palm hat with fringes in hand singing a folk song “khach den choi nha”, national ochestra played national pieces of music of 3 regions in Vietnam.

The guests attending the party of Vietnam concluded both ASEAN country members and many other countries all over the world. This meant that Vietnam got so much attention of foreign tourism industry. Ms. Mari Allese, a representative of Estonia company said: "I have never seen such impressive sceneries before. Your performances are well combined between Western and Eastern cultures. We not only like but can also understand many things about art and Vietnamese people through your performaces".

"Female artists of Vietnam are very beautiful in Ao dai" Ms Mari Allese, Mr. Abdel Rahamn said that when they arrived their country, they would hold many meetings and cooperate with vietnam tourism industry to send their visitors to Vietnam in order to find out traditional art and enjoy traditional food as well as visiting beauty spots in Vietnam such as Halong Bay, Hoi An…

This is not to learn but also to show off...

There were some 30 Vietnamses enterprises attending ATF. More than 20 stalls of Vietnam at the trade affair attracted many foreign travelling companies. Ms Le Thi Thu Huyen, in charge of sales and marketing services of Vietnam airlines said that: we have received many invitations for meetings of foreign partners online via internet of the organization board. Through Travex 2008, many enterprises had a good chance to meet and exchange with many potential partners of Vietnam.

Some contracts were signed at the trade affair but the thing is that they have a good chance to cooperate with each other long. Travelling companies, hotels… attending the forum may learn many lessons for themselves in holding public events, finding the market demand and enterprises could set plans for them.

Mr. Pham Quang Hung, director of International Cooperation Department (VNAT) said that: ATF 2008 is a preparation step for Vietnam to host ATF 2009, so the success of the forum should be the cooperation among 3 sectors: culture, sports and tourism. ATF 2009 is estimated to last from 5th to 12/1/09 in Hanoi.

The meetings of ministers, working board, and the leaders of national tourism agencies will take place at Daewoo hotel tourism exhibitions will be hold at Giang Vo exhibiton and fair center. The opening and closing ceremony will be hold at My Dinh national convention center. The prime minister already approved the project of holding ATF 2009.

Then an organization board and a steering committee and information, propaganda and logistics subcommittee will be established. To develop the project, we already made publication for an overview advertising for ATF 2009 and was shown at ATF 2008. At the press conference of Vietnam tourism industry and the international press at ATF 2008, Mr. Pham Quang Hung, the chairman of the meeting, answered questions about the hosting of ATF 2009 in Vietnam. At the same time, the international press were reported on Vietnam tourism growth rate.

ATF 2009 is a very important political event and is an excellent chance for Vietnam to advertise its image. This is also an activity of culture, sports and tourism sectors. Speaking at the conference, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Mr. Hoang Tuan Anh said that: By 2009, Vietnam for the first time will host ATF in Hanoi, a very beautiful capital with a millennium-long history in our country. We would like to send my sincere invitation to you all to attend the great event in January 2009. ATF will be a good chance for us to exchange information, develope cooperation, tourism industry and explore the latent beauty of the country and its people.

In the role of co-chairman of the meetings of Leadership of ASEAN national agencies and ASEAN tourism ministers as well as attending ATF 2008, Vietnam made a good impression from Vietnam Night and fairs and exhibitions activities which marked the big effort of Vietnam to integrate globally and consolidate the country status in regional countries. Vietnam could certainly be successful in the role of the chairman of ATF 09 in Hanoi.
