Vietnam joins Brest Sea Festival 2008 for the first time

Vietnam will, for the first time, take part together with 25 other countries in the Brest Sea Festival 2008, to be held in France from July 11thto 17th.
The Brest Sea Festival is one of the biggest sea festivals in Europe. It has been held every 4 years since its founding in 1992.

Vietnam and Japan were invited to represent Asia at the the festival.

The Vietnamese delegation includes crew, fishermen, water-puppetiers, national musical artists, trade staff, and cooks.

At the center of the festival area, the Vietnamese delegation will showcase a typical Vietnam coastal village with a bamboo greeting gate and communal house roof. The village has five spaces for offshore tradition, tourism, trade, arts and cuisine. Fishing tools and traditional dishes of Vietnam will also be introduced to entertain tourists during the festival.

Preparation is completed and the delegation is expected to arrive in France in late June.

Particapting in the festival will be a good chance for Vietnam to seek more co-operation and trade opportunities with developed sea economies.

A four-day caravan entitled “Discovering South Central Coast's destinations” that travels across Binh Thuan, Ninh Thuan and Lam Dong starts today till June 15. The trip is aimed at promoting the three provincial destinations of the South Central Coast.
