Hanoi (VNA) – The United Nations Day of Vesak will be greated by a grand song and dance performance at the National Convention Centre on May 14.
The performance will welcome participants to the important Buddhist event, which marks Buddha’s birthday, his Enlightenment and entry into Nirvana.
Professional artists will perform alongside 108 Buddhist followers in the gala that is hoped will highlight Buddhist spirituality as well as promote Vietnam ’s traditional culture.
The UN Day of Vesak celebrations will take place in Hanoi from May 13-17, welcoming most venerables, venerables, superior bonzes, monks and nuns from across the country and 600 Buddhist delegations from 90 nations and territories.
