Puppeteers from the Central Puppetry Theatre have performed at the Asia-Pacific UNESCO Congress taking place in Bulacan, in the Philippines.
During their stay in the Philippines, the troupe was also invited to attend a seminar to discuss the preservation and exploitation of cultural heritages in the Asia-Pacific region.
Director of the Central Puppetry Theatre, Vuong Duy Bien said the puppetry show “Chuyen to he” (Story of Children’s toys), which won a silver medal at the first international puppetry festival held in Hanoi earlier this year, will take the stage at Hue Festival from June 4-9. He added that the theatre will also perform the puppet show “Hon Que” (Soul of Village) at the Sziget festival in Pudapest, Hungary from August 12-18.
The theatre will then go on tour, first performing in Taiwan from June 28 to August 27 then, in Norway from August 22 to August 24 and the Netherlands from August 28 to September 2 this year.
