A dragon boat race will be held in the Mekong province of An Giang’s Chau Doc Township next Sunday, an event scheduled to promote the area as a tourist destination.
The races are held annually as part of the regional Lady Festival and take place on the Bassac River from the Chau Doc Basa Fish Park to the Victoria Chau Doc Hotel. Around 15 teams will compete this year. The races will take place from 9.30am to 2.30pm with prizes of up to VND2 million (US$125).
Later, visitors can join the Lady Festival, which is held annually at the Lady Temple from May 27 to 31 this year.
