The ecosystem of Tram Chim National Park has been restored. This resulted in the appearance of 98 cranes since the beginning of this year.
According to
the national park’s management board, 89 cranes came back to the park in 2006
and that number rose up to 125 in 2007.
Besides,
acreage of grassland has increased three times since the implementation of
four-year-recovery project entitled “Recover Plain of Reeds’ ecosystem”
initiated by WWF that ends in 2010 and costs US $250,000 a year. In 2005, just
800 hectares were for grassland. The figure rose to 2,700 hectares in
2007.
WWF has paid
much attention to the Plain of Reeds with rich bio-diversity and to maintain its
sustainable development for the benefit of local people and the environment as
well.
