Ho Chi Minh City kicks off 4th tourist festival

The 4th annual Tourist Day was launched at Ho chi minh City’s Dam Sen Park Friday.



Organized by the city Department of Tourism and the HCMC Tourism Association, the three-day event is hosting 62 tourism companies, hotels, universities and resorts showcasing their goods and services at 138 booths.

“Last year, HCMC received 2.7 million tourists out of 4.2 million nationwide,” said Dong Thi Kim Vui, Director of HCMC’s Department of Tourism.

“The Southern metro welcomed 800,000 tourists in the first quarter of 2008 and expects the number to reach 3 million by the end of the year.”
