Thua Thien-Hue - The Paris wastewater treatment authority (SIAAP) will grant 130,000 Euro to support the upgrade of ponds in the Hue imperial citadel.
The recently signed contract between SIAAP and the municipal Hue
People’s Committee outlines the city’s Urban Environment and Works Company will
be entrusted to improve the Ho Ve and Thanh Hoang ponds within six
months.
Technical and financial data will be collected during the project
as a base to begin planning an entire upgrade of the citadel drainage in the
near future.
The royal citadel houses more than 30 ponds that are
connected to Ngu Ha stream before flowing to the Huong (Perfume) River. However,
alluvium build up in the ponds has recently created flooding in the citadel
