Indonesian Airline Lion Air has resumed service to Hcm city after a three-year suspension of the low-fare carrier's flights in Vietnam
The carrier's inaugural flight is scheduled to land at Hcm City's Tan Son Nhat
Airport at 11:20 am today after a four-hour, 30-minute flight from Soekamo
Airport in Jakarta.
The daily return flight will leave HCM
City at 12:20pm and stop over in Singapore before arriving in
Jakarta.
The carrier's senior manager of sales and
marketing, Chandran Rama Muthy, said the schedule would make it easy for
holidaymakers to check in and out at Hotels in hcm City.
Chandran said tourists were Lion Air's
major passengers and that students and family members visiting relatives made up
the rest.
"Lion Air is the first Airline in the
world to fly the brand new Boeing 737-900ER, new safe and comfortable aircraft,"
said Chandran.
The Boeing 737-900 aircraft will initially
operate with all economy class seats, but later the carrier will arrange 10
business class seats and 195 economy class seats.
He said Lion Air was a hybrid carrier
rather than a low-cost airline, meaning that it is somewhere between a low-cost
and full-serviced airline.
