Japanese cultural activities scheduled for summer

After the Cherry Blossom Festival, which attracted more than 10,000 visitors in Hanoi early this month, a series of Japanese cultural events will be held in the capital city from early May to the end of September to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations (1973-2008).

In May, there will be an origami and Japanese costume exhibition. June will be the month for Japanese animation. There will be exhibitions of Japanese calligraphy and a tea ceremony in July and a contest about knowledge of Japanese culture will be held from May 1 to September 21 under the sponsorship of the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam

The Vietnam-Japan Human Resource Cooperation Centre, which has around 7,000 book titles and 3,000 DVDs about Japan, will open during the contest as a free datacentre.
