City Look, a bus service to carry visitors around Ho chi minh city for sightseeing, was stopped recently, announced Mai Linh Tourism Company.
“Due to regular traffic jams and personnel reshuffling, the service has to end unexpectedly,” said a representative of the company on July 22.
The service was opened last December. Buses were daily available every 30 minutes and toured the city, passing main spots such as Ben Thanh Market, Independence Palace, City Post Office, etc.
There were seven buses in operation at the beginning, which were then reduced to two.
According to Mr La Quoc Khanh, Vice Director of the municipal Culture, Sports and Tourism Department, traffic jams are the main reason for the closing of the service; the company also said poor advertisement is another reason.
On the other hand, Mr Khanh insisted that City Look is a good service for visitors around the city; thus, more efforts will be made by the company to find a way out.
