Miss Tourism Vietnam finals fixed for July 26

As the finals of Miss Tourism Vietnam pageant are too close to Miss Universe 2008 contest, Miss Tourism will not be crowned until July 26, 2008, two weeks later than the initial date.

The postponement may help the Miss Tourism Vietnam pageant from being buried by the international pageant Miss Universe 2008.

Vu The Binh, a member of the Miss Tourism Vietnam organising board, said that the delay will help competitors to have more time to prepare for the event. The deadline for registration, therefore, is also extended to May 19. At present, the pageant has nearly 400 competitors. The qualifier round of the southern region was held in Hcm city in early May.

The final night of Miss Tourism Vietnam 2008 will take place at Military Zone 7 Stadium in HCM City, which can hold 40,000 people. Miss Tourism Vietnam 2008 will participate in Miss World Tourism 2008.

Timetable for Miss Tourism Vietnam 2008:

Semi-finals for the Northern region: June14

Semi-finals for the Central region: June 28

Semi-finals for the Southwestern region: July 5

Semi-finals for the Southern region: July 12
