An unique artwork on President Ho Chi Minh

Artisan Nguyen Than has created an unique artwork made from a tree-trunk featuring President Ho chi minh
Artisan Nguyen Than was known in Quang ngai province where he is living with his artworks made from tree trunks. He has created impressive work named “Awakening”, “Southern Land” or “Tsunami” but “Living Forever in People’s Hearts” which features Uncle Ho is his favourite.

Since having a idea of creating a work on Uncle Ho, artisan Nguyen Than wanted to make his work on the trunk of the star apple tree, the tree that the southern people had offered the Uncle. Then he has spent time seeking for a suitable tree root for the work.

“Living Forever in People’s Heart” is made from a ancient tree, with a height of 5 metres and root’s diameter of around 2 metres. The three branches of the roots represent the three region, the north, the centre and the south gathering together to the image of the Uncle which is in the centre of the artwork.

The three branches on the top of the focal image of Uncle Ho feature doves which symbolise the aspiration for peace of all Vietnamese people.

The image of Uncle Ho is placed in the centre of the work, meaning he is always in the heart of Vietnamese people.

Nguyen Than is an amateur artist but it’s his heart for President Ho chi minh that is sincere.
