The 2008 Southern Fruit Festival will be held from June 1 to August 30, 2008 in Suoi Tien Tourism Area. This will be an opportunity to collect delicious and well-known fruits nationwide and in the south to meet the demand of domestic and foreign tourists.
According to the Ho chi minh tourism Department, the 2008 Southern Fruit Festival has attracted the participation of 15 provinces and cities and 30 orchards. The organizing board is continuing to seek delicious fruits nationwide, expecting to introduce a collection of Vietnam’s fruit for tourists.
In this year’s festival, tourists will come to a “Fruit City” with 50 types of delicious fruits from around the nation such as Hoang Gia Nam Roi grapefruit, Gao Market blue dragon, Hoa Loc sweet mango, Go Cong – Tieng Giang watermelon, Tra Vinh guava and Sapa peach.
Apart from fresh fruits, the “Fruit City” will also display processed fruit products such as jam, dried fruits and fruit wine.
During the festival, a series of activities will take place such as the Fruit Caravan, the “Fruit export and preservation” seminar, artistic fruit carving and offering various fruit dishes.
