On April 16th, Thai Nguyen provincial museum invited Prof. Hoang Van Khoan, from the Cultural Heritage Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and representatives from relevant agencies in the province to assess an ancient bronze drum.
The drum
was discovered on April 13th by a worker from a construction company while
upgrading a communal road in Ten village, Van Lang commune, Dong Hy district.
According to Prof. Hoan, based on the shape and inscribed patterns, the
drum can be classified as type Hego I, dating back about 2,500 years.
