Puppetry troupe to perform in Finland
The Viet nam Puppetry Theatre is getting ready to tour Finland for five days from August 29.
Together with musicians and dancers, the group will perform plays about Vietnamese farmers working on the rice fields.
The Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs will cooperate with Hevosenkenka Theatre and Espoo City to organise the event at the Espoo Cultural Centre.
Israeli band to perform in Hanoi
Oy Division, one of the few Israeli bands performing Jewish traditional music, will hold performances during their visit to Hanoi from May 11-14.
The band’s two concerts, scheduled for May 12 and 13, are part of celebrations for the 60th anniversary of Israel Independence Day and 15 years of Vietnam-Israel diplomatic relations.
The performances are co-organised by the Israeli embassy, the Young Theatre and the Melia hotel.
Photos exhibit Vietnam-Australia ties
A photo exhibition entitled “Australia-Vietnam: Now and Then” opened at the Can tho University in the Mekong delta province of Can Tho on May 6.
The exhibition is being jointly held by the Australian Consul General and the Can tho University as part of activities to mark the 35th anniversary of the Australia-Vietnam diplomatic ties.
The 58 photos taken between 1973 and now have been sourced from the two countries’ citizens and the Australian historical documentary centre. They capture important events of the bilateral ties, friendship between the two people as well as the daily life in each country.
The exhibition will run until May 13.
