Vietnam Airlines to add more flights on April 30 and May 1

The Vietnam national flag carrier (Vietnam Airlines) said on April 23 it will add 12 more Flights on routes from Hanoi and Ho chi minh city to popular tourist destinations such as Danang Nha trang Da lat Hue and Phu quoc to serve the increased travel demand during the holidays of April 30 and May 1.


Specifically, Vietnam airlines will add one more flight on the Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City – Danang route, three more flights on the HCM City – Nha trang route, four more flights on the Hcm cityDalat route and two more flights on the HCM City – Hue route, and use A321 aircraft on the Hanoi – Nha Trang route.

The aviation market achieved high growth in the first quarter this year over the same period last year because an increasing number of tourists traveled during Tet and national holidays, said Vietnam Airlines. The airline carried more than 2.3 million passengers in the first three months of 2008, an on year increase of 14.7 percent, bringing turnover to nearly 6,000 billion VND.

The number of tourists to Ha long bay increased 60 percent in the first quarter of 2008, said the Support Committee for Ha Long Bay in a seminar in Quang Ninh Province on April 23 to disseminate information on voting for Ha Long Bay as natural wonder of the world.
