An exhibition featuring Buddhist culture and art opened at the National Convention Hall in Hanoi on May 13 as part of the celebrations of the United Nations Day of Vesak.
More than 800 photos describing pagodas and towers built throughout the country are also introduced to the public.
Of which, around 200 photos feature Vietnamese pagodas across the countries during 20 centuries of development.
The focus of the exhibition is the 121 colour photos of 60x90cm size introducing 121 records in the Vietnam Buddhism taken by photographer Vo Van Tuong. The records were recognised in the Vietnam Record Book Centre from December 2004 to April 2008.
The exhibition also showcases 300 china, pottery and bronze antiques, which are typical of the Buddhist art.
Addressing the opening, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications said all the photos and objects on display in the exhibition showed the Buddhist culture’s accompaniment with the national development.
Other activities such as Buddhist culinary culture and music performance honouring Buddhism are also organised during the event.
