Vietnam - Tours to North for U.N. Day of Vesak

Viet nam will host the United Nations Day of Vesak for the first time at the National Conference Center in Ha noi from May 13-17. Vesak is a celebration of the Buddha’s birth, death, and enlightenment.

The United Nations Day of Vesak is a chance to deliver Buddha’s message of peace, conciliation, harmony, mercifulness, progress and global sustainable development.

Ho Chi Minh City-based Vietravel Co. is offering a series of tours to northern Viet nam on the occasion of the important Buddhist event. The tours are open so that tourists can visit both Ha noi and other northern cities and provinces. Vietravel’s daily tours include Ha Noi-Huong Pagoda, Ha Noi-Mount Yen Tu, and Ha Noi-Hoa Lu.

Huong Pagoda in Ha tay Province and Yen Tu Mount in Quang Ninh Province are the Buddhist places where many pilgrims visit every year. Hoa Lu was the first capital of Dai Viet, a Viet Nam’s former name. 

In Ha Noi, after the Vesak opening on May 13, travelers will major tourist destinations of the capital such as the Uncle Ho Mausoleum, Van Mieu (Temple of Literature), Tran Quoc Pagoda, and the Ancient Town.

Travelers are having a chance to explore the typical, daily lives of Ha Noi’s citizens through an event called “Thang Long- Ha noi Craft Village & Craft Street Tourism Week.”
