From May 10-15, photographer Nguyen Viet Thanh will introduce his photo exhibition entitled “The Beauty of the Mediterranean” at Ly Thai To park, Hanoi

These photos were captured during Thanh’s trips to Italy. “I feel a closeness between Italian and Asian women because they both have small frames, black hair but I’m impressed by Italian girls’ expressive blue eyes. I was charmed so I took many photos of Italian women. Sometimes I asked myself whether the Mediterranean creates the beauty of Italian women,” the photographer said.

Each trip to Italy roused new feelings for Nguyen Viet Thanh. He is impressed by the enthusiasm of Italian people as well as their liberal minds.

The exhibition is sponsored by the Italian Embassy in Vietnam on the occasion of the Italian Cultural Season and European Days in Vietnam 2008 programmes.

Graduating as an archaeologist, Nguyen Viet Thanh has become a reputed photographer. He is now a professional photographer. He won second prizes at photo contests held by Vietnam News Agency from 2003-2005.

In 2004, he won a silver medal at the National Pictorial Contest and the first prize in the Asian Journalistic Photo Contest 2006.
