Search for three Vietnamese kings overseas

The Hcm city Television Station (HTV) will send cameramen abroad to seek the vestiges of three Vietnamese Kings, Ham Nghi, Thanh Thai and Duy tan in a 60-episode chronicle film entitled “Seek the traces of three kings”.

The team will leave Hcm city for France on May 22. They will also go to Reunion and some Northern and Central African countries to shoot the film.

They have made appointments with some witnesses, such as Georges Vinh San and Claude Vinh San, the first- and second-born sons of King Duy tan who are living in France, and some French historians like Fédéric Turpin and Phillipe Devillers.

The team leader, writer Nguyen Ho, said the idea to produce this film came from a trip to Nouvelle-Calédonie, where Vietnamese were exiled during the period of French rule, which is similar to Reunion, where the Vietnamese Kings Thanh Thai and Duy Tan were exiled.

Before going abroad, the group visited many locations in Vietnam especially the ancient capital of Hue which has many royal tombs, objects and the offspring of the three kings, to collect materials.

The film is made to praise the three patriotic kings.
