Centre of Vietnamese Traditional Music set up - Vietnamese Traditional Music

PANO – The Centre of Vietnamese Traditional Music under the Research Centre for Preservation and Promotion of Vietnamese Traditional Music debuted on May 19.
The opening of this centre, directed by two musicians Nguyen The Phiet and Mai Tuyet Hoa, is to meet the demands of traditional art preservation and promotion in general and national music in particular.

The centre is focusing on researching and collecting folk arts such as Ca tru or ceremonial singing, “Xam” singing, “trong quan” or folk-singing contests in the countryside between male and female groups, folk singing of Phu Tho province and so on. The centre also deals with traditional theatre styles such as popular opera, classical drama, reformed theatre, “bai choi” or folklore of the central region.

Moreover, the centre will also organise performances and training courses.
