Vietravel to hold underwater wedding

Tour operator Vietravel will be organizing a mass underwater wedding for four couples on August 8 in Nha trang city in the coastal province of Khanh Hoa.

Le Hong Viet Thao of the company says that the Oriental philosophy considers that number eight is a lucky one, which could bring good luck and prosperity.

Therefore, organizing the wedding on August 8 will be special and meaningful. The company is also experienced in arranging underwater weddings; last summer, it arranged the first one for an Australian couple in Nha Trang Bay, which earned the company a place in Vietnam Guinness record book as the first company to hold underwater wedding in Vietnam on June 28.

To mark its entry into the Vietnam Guinness book, Vietravel is offering a promotional price of VND8,888,000 (US$529) per couple joining the mass wedding from the normal price of US$1,000 per couple.

Before the wedding, each couple will spend a day or two learning scuba diving skills on Mun Island, ten kilometers off the coast of mainland Khanh Hoa. During the wedding ceremony, couples will wear traditional Vietnamese wedding costumes along with their swimming suits.

The master of ceremonies will perform the wedding underwater at the depth of 5 meters off Mun Island; Friends and families of the bride and the groom are invited to witness the ceremony on shore. The deadline to register is August 1.
