As many as 1.7 million foreign visitors have come to Vietnam in the first four months, up by 16.1% compared to the same period last year, according to Tourism General Department statistics.
Over 1
million, an increase of 12.3%, are holiday-goers, while 315,600, up by 59.6%,
have come on business, 263,000 people, up by 12%, have come back to visit
relatives, and 103,400 travellers have come for other purposes, down by
17.8%.
Most
visitors are from China
(291,900 people), up by 63.9%; US (165,500 people), up by 6.4%;
Taiwan (111,300 people), up
by 10%; Finland (4,600
people), up by 43.7%; Hong Kong (2,200 people), up by 33.3%; and the
Philippines (13,500 people), up by
24.8%.
