Green escape - Vuon Thien Thanh (Blue Garden)

Traveling from the Saigon Bridge toward District 9, a turn on Nguyen Xien Street going across the Go Cong Bridge will bring guests to an ecotourism park, which locals call the “Countryside Resort.”
The real name of the park is Vuon Thien Thanh (Blue Garden) and its owner said she decided to convert her personal garden into a tourist stop when she noticed that Ho chi minh city offered so few green spaces.

The tourist park, located at 171 Road 22 in District 9’s Long Thanh My Ward, is a luxurious green space between districts 2 and 9.

It provides the ambiance of the countryside, but imparts visitors with a unique sightseeing experience.

Instead of thatch roofs and straw piles, the landscape is covered with grass carpets featuring bountiful fruit trees.

The environment helps generate a mood of relaxation, as well as reminding guests about the importance of protecting the environment.

At Vuon Thien Thanh, tourists can take in tranquil scenery and entertain themselves with activities such as fishing, table tennis, billiards and swimming at modern facilities.

They can also stay overnight in European-style garden houses for a price of VND160,000-200,000 (US$6.25-12.5) per day.

The tourist park additionally serves up delectable cuisine with a host of Cambodian and southern Vietnamese-influenced dishes.

Among the highlights are banh xeo Nam Vang (Phnom Penh rice pancake), banh canh ca (rice noodle soup with fish), ca loc nuong trui (grilled snakehead fish) and ga nuong muoi ot (grilled chicken spiced with salt and capsicum).

The menu also boasts 10 kinds of nutritious medical wine processed by traditional recipes.

On festive occasions, Vuon Thien Thanh becomes packed with sightseers and the park provides many activities suitable for visitors of all age groups.

The owner says she plans to offer a special green wedding tour for young couples who want to have an unforgettable occasion on this significant day of their life.

To visit Vuon Thien Thanh, one can book a tour by calling (08) 733 5262.
