Youth Theatre takes part in “Night of Shakespeare” event

To mark the 444th anniversary of English playwright William Shakespeare’s birthday, 65 theatre companies from 35 countries will perform a selection of his masterpieces of on April 23.

The programme entitled ”S24- the night of Shakespeare” will begin in New Zealand and also be held in Fiji, Solomon Islands, Australia, Japan, Hongkong, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam Bangladesh India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Russia, Arabia Saudi, Israel, Romania, Turkey, Croatia, Germany, Malawi, Norway, Serbia, Zimbabwe, the UK, Ireland, Island, Ghana, Cape Verde, Brazil, Bermuda, Mexico, Arkansas, New Mexico, Seattle, and Alaska before coming to a close in Hawaii, the US.

In 11 Ngo Thi Nham street, Hanoi, the play Macbeth will be staged by the Youth Theatre, with actress Lan Huong and actor Anh Tu playing the leading roles.

Truong Nhuan, deputy director of the Youth Theatre said that taking part in the unique event offers an interesting opportunity for the theatre’s actors and actresses and will help to promote Vietnamese theatre overseas.
