Thua Thien – Hue Province in central Viet nam has announced it intends to pour over VND3 billion into renovating the Thanh Toan bridge, famous for its tiled roof in time for the Hue Festival occurring over June 3-11.
Featuring carefully restored murals and relics, An Dinh Palace in the central city of Hue will be fully open to tourists for the Hue Festival this June.
With the two national holidays on April 30 and May 1 falling just before a weekend this year, the domestic tourism market has become red-hot.
Hcm City-based Ben Thanh Tourist has launched three new tours to the ancient city of Hue during the Hue Festival 2008, running June 3 through 11. The tour spans three days and two nights.
The Vietnam national flag carrier (Vietnam Airlines) said on April 23 it will add 12 more Flights on routes from Hanoi and Ho chi minh city to popular tourist destinations such as Danang Nha trang Da lat Hue and Phu quoc to serve the increased travel demand during the holidays of April 30 and May 1.
355 projects of provinces and cities with tourism potential like Lao cai Thua Thien-Hue, Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Quang Nam (Hoi An), An Giang, Kien Giang, Ho chi minh city were introduced to major global investors and international funding groups at a conference and exhibition called Vietnam Tourism and Properties Opportunities.
An Dinh Palace in the former imperial city of Hue re-opened to the public on April 22 following the complete restoration of its wall paintings and decorations.
Sculptors from 16 countries around the world have registered to participate at the fifth International Sculpture Camp to be held during the Hue Festival 2008.
“Central Vietnam – A Safe and Attractive Destination” is a theme of a programme to advertise tourism of Vietnam held by Vietnam Consulate General and tourism department of Thua Thien Hue Da nang and Quang Nam.
The fifth sculptural camp entitled “Impression on Hue and Vietnam 2008” will be held from May 1 to June 5 at the Abalone resort & spa tourist area in Thuan An town, Phu Vang district, Thua Thien Hue province.
