Hoa Lu, 100 km south of Hanoi, was the capital city of Vietnam under the Dinh Dynasty between AD 968 and AD 980. Some of the sanctuaries and tombs have survived the countless years and can still be visited today. Apart from the historical aspects, the area is also one of astounding natural beauty with limestone peaks whose splendor is often said to surpass that of Ha Long Bay. It is true that this area is often referred to as the Ha Long Bay on land. The tour includes being rowed along the Boi River, which makes for a truly unforgettable experience, passing between towering limestone peaks.

Tour Program

08h00. We drive 130 km (2 hours) from Hanoi to Hoalu district, enjoying the beautiful sceneries of the rural areas on the way,
10h00 Arrive in Hoa Lu,in Hoalu we'll visit two temples dedicated to two royal families of Vietnam in 10th century: temples of King Dinh And King Le in the 10th century, finding out the heroic histories of this two Kings in Chinese Wars. After that our car takes us through the magnificent countryside of North Vietnam typical with green limestone mountains jutting out of the green paddy fields to Tamcoc town for lunch (10 kms far from Hoa Lu).
After lunch, we get on bamboo boats for the cruise on the river through the green rice paddy surrounded by ranges of green limestone mountains. After 3 hours of the rowing boat trip, we drive 2 km to BichDong pagodas, complex of pagodas built into limestone mountain cliffs from 15th century with unreal scenery around. ,
15h30 After some walk to the top pagoda, we drive back to Hanoi finishing the tour.
17h45 Arrive in Hanoi, end of the tour.
