A record of over 10,000 tourists, 80 percent of them are foreigners, visit Ha long bay during these holidays. The sharp increase was attributed to the daily resumption of sea routes to Ha Long Bay from China, including Beihai-Ha Long and the Hainan-Ha Long links. Furthermore, the route from Hong Kong to Ha Long, was conducted weekly.

The number of tourists to Ha long bay increased 60 percent in the first quarter of 2008, said the Support Committee for Ha Long Bay in a seminar in Quang Ninh Province on April 23 to disseminate information on voting for Ha Long Bay as natural wonder of the world.
The number of tourists travelling to Ha long rose by 60 per cent in the first quarter of 2008 against that of 2007, said officials at a conference to review the campaign to vote for Ha Long as a world natural wonder held on April 23 in Quang Ninh.
